FIRST LIGHT TOYS AND GAMES

Here at First Light, I am expanding the range of toys and games to try to match the type of ideas that I have been asked to produce. My convertible toys are still very popular, but it’s time to branch out and include other items such as games, and other toys. Below, is the first of my new items.

This is the first of my new items. It’s a picture puzzle pack, containing four different puzzles. This pack is suitable for children between 5 and 10 years old and great fun to do. The number of pieces range from between 32 to 40, so it shouldn’t be too difficult. And if you need extra help, each piece is numbered on the back to help your child find the piece that they want, but this is optional. I had fun putting this pack together, including making up the puzzles to make sure that they fitted together correctly, and yes, I did peek at the numbers for some of them. Below is a picture of what one of the puzzles looks like once it’s been put together. Enjoy.

The next new game maybe some time before it’s complete. But to give you a hint, I’ll be back tomorrow to give you a sneak peek of my next new game. So do pop back to have a glimpse of what I’ll be making next. 🌅

Hello. I’m back to show you what I’ve done so far of my new project. It will be a board game called shop and swap. I wanted to finish the board before posting details about the Game. I’ve also completed two of the shopping card sets. The food shop and the clothes shop. I have two more sets to make up, plus other elements to the game. I hope to have the other card sets done by to tomorrow plus another element that is crucial to the game. Once that is complete, I’ll pop back to show you the next stage and give a hint as to how the game is played. 🌅

Hi everyone. This is the latest stage of my new shopping game, called Shop and Swap. I’ve finished the shop cards, made the dice and the credit cards. I added in the extra items to the board to give you an idea of what they look like. So when I come back tomorrow, I’ll have made the counters and I’ll show you a game in progress. So do pop back and see the finished game tomorrow. 🌅

My Shop and Swap game is finally finished. I’ve made the credit cards, counters and dice, and over on my First Light Crafts you tube channel, there is a short video of how the game is played. I’m so pleased with how this game has turned out and I enjoyed playing a sample game to demonstrate it. The next game will be for younger children from 3 -5 years old, and will be called the Name Train. But that is just ideas scribbled in a notebook at the moment. I will be making it very soon. This is the latest in my convertible knitted toys. On one side it’s a zebra, with its stripes and cute nose. I had so much fun designing and making this one. Turn it upside down and flip it over and…………………………………..

……..It transforms to a lion. Sewing on the mane took longer than I thought it would, but it was still a lot of fun to make. I’m now working on a new toy set, which a commission of a doll that transforms to a teddy. I’ll tell you the story of how that came about once I’ve finished it and posted it onto this page. 🌅

This is the latest design in my transformer toys. This one transforms from a teddy to a doll. On this side, it is a teddy. But flip him over and pull the skirt part down and he becomes………………………………………………………..

A doll. With a quick turn and a bit of a wiggle, the Teddy transforms into a doll. Now, there is a story to how this toy came about. I had a customer who wanted a toy for her daughter who was about to celebrate her 6th birthday. She had apparently asked for a Teddy and a doll. Her mum was happy to buy both, but her dad said she had to choose one or the other. So her mum came to me and asked if I could find a way to resolve this, as it was causing quite a bit of tension between them. I said what if she had one toy that is a Teddy on one side and a doll on the other. Mum thought it was a great idea, so this toy was created. The doll has long plaited hair that goes down her back, which isn’t shown in this photo. The toy satisfied both parents and restored peace to their home once again.

I love it when people ask me to create something new as it makes me think in slightly different ways. How can I adapt this? Or how am I going to include that? It’s all good fun and I wouldn’t swap my work for the world. – I love it. 🌅
