Welcome to my orange studio. As the principal colour of my crafting world is orange, I decided to decorate my studio accordingly. This first picture shows the window wall side. As you can see, I’ve completely covered the wall with orange paper. I’ve added a few tiles and the window sill has orange flowers along it. I’ll give you a closer look at that in another photo.

This is the wall opposite the window. I pasted my orange paper onto the wall so that the pattern from the original wallpaper still shows through a little bit. I’ve made a tiled section to break up the solid orange. You can also see a glimpse of the back of my chair. Again, I’ll give you a closer look at that later on.

This chest of drawers is opposite my armchair. It is an ordinary set of plastic drawers, and I added an orange front to each of them with good quality card. As well as keeping it in tune with the colour theme of the room, it made it easier to add labels to each drawer. Sticky labels don’t stick very well to plastic, but they are fine on card stock.

This is another set of plastic drawers that have been fronted with orange card. These are at the far end of the studio, and they sit under my workstation. There is another set next to it which is identical.

This is the chair I sit in when I am working. I remove the cushion first and then sit down. It is actually an ordinary black office chair, but it looked a bit dull in a bright orange room, so I added a throw with a cushion under it to make it a bit more comfortable to sit in. It sits in the corner of the room like the picture above when I’m not working.

This is my armchair. It’s actually a deep maroon colour underneath, but the upholstery is starting to look a bit tatty so I bought an identical throw to the other chair and placed it on my armchair. It’s very cosy. The cover on the back of the chair is actually a bath mat, but I thought it would look better in my studio as the orange sun is my logo, so I added it to the back of the chair. I love it and it’s very soft to rest against.

This is the desk where I work. It was originally a fold up camping table, but I covered the top with orange card and sealed it with waterproof tape so that I can wipe it down if it gets dirty. You can also see most of the window sill with my lovely orange vases and flowers. The little sun ornaments add a nice touch to the display, I think. The sunshine lamp in the centre of the display looks amazing at night when it’s dark, and the main lights in the room are turned off. It emits a radiant glow that bounces off of the orange wall opposite and makes that glow even brighter.
And finally …………………..

This is an overall view of my orange studio. The rug on the floor has that lovely sun image on it and you can see little bits of just about every part of the room.
I’m very pleased with my orange studio. The funny part is that every time I think I’ve finished it, I find another orange item or image that I just have to add. If I do add anything else I’ll take a photo and add it to this page for you to see.
