I have a small range of gift boxes and bags at the moment, but it’s an area I intend to expand on. Herd are the ones that I’ve made so far.

Designed striped box

This box is a 6×6 inch box that is two inches deep. I’ve added my designed paper to the main box and a square on the lid. I’ve also added a small motif to give a little variation, but this can be left out, if desired.

Acetate front box

This 8×6 inch gift box is two inches deep. It has an acetate lid so that you can see the goodies within the box. It also has a ribbon and a bow, for added decoration. Make these in different colours and it would make a wonderful Christmas gift box. This box has finger lifts on the sides of the lid to make it easy to remove. The acetate can be replaced with card if you want the contents to be a surprise. All of my boxes are adaptable to size and design requests.

Book Boxes

I’ve designed these gift boxes to look like books. They even have a faux bookmark at the bottom. These boxes are perfect for delivering a surprise gift or indeed, keeping to put those treasured memories or special items in. No one is going to look inside a book to see its contents. The leather effect book is actually not leather at all, but a technique I’ve devised to look like leather. Take a look at the next picture to see how the insides of these boxes look.

Inside of the book boxes

This is how the book boxes look when they are opened. You can see the faux bookmarks as well as having plenty of room inside to place your gift or store your treasured memories. I use mine to store photos of loved ones who are no longer with us.

Paper handbag

This is a gift bag that has been designed to look like a handbag or paper purse. It can be made in any colour and pattern and is a great way of giving that gift that’s difficult to step. Swap out the papers and colours and it would make a great Christmas gift bag. The closure is a simple embellishment that is attached to the front of the bag and the flap just flips out. Very useful for recipients who have manual dexterity problems and would struggle with Velcro dots or magnets.

Mirrored gift box

These are proving to be very popular. I have various images but as you can see, this one is a lemon themed box. The recipient reads the message on the top of the box then twists the lemon to see their poem reflection. Take a look at the next image.

With the mirror open

So they twist the image on the front. In this case it’s a lemon. The wording on the front says, ‘twist the lemon to see the loveliest gift of all.’ And when they do, they see a reflection of themselves. So there is a double surprise. The joy of seeing themselves as the loveliest gift, plus whatever is inside of the box. I will be adding more to this page so do pop back and have a look.

Strawberry Mirror gift box

This is one of my boxes in the Summer Fruits range. It’s a rectangular box with a hand painted image on the front. The image reflects the twist top mirror on the upper left hand side. When the recipient twists the strawberry, there is a mirror under it and they see a reflection of themselves, so they become the sweetest gift. See the next picture for the other box in this range.

Orange Mirror Gift Box

This is a six by six box With a one inch depth. It follows the same principles as the other boxes in this range, except for this one, you lift the orange rather than twisting it. It’s simply due to the different design of mirror that I used. These are very well received by recipients and gift givers. Seeing the smile on people’s faces when they see that they are the sweetest gift is pure magic.

DECORATED LID BOX

This is an ordinary 6×6 inch gift box, but I’ve decorated the lid to make it more attractive. I’ve used several layers to give it extra depth. This is easy to do and adds an extra touch of class to your gift boxes, and it makes them very eye catching, which is even better news if you sell your products.

SMALL PAPER HANDBAG

This paper handbag, or paper purse was adapted from a gift bag that I bought in a local store. I actually purchased two bags and cut one of the down to size. I cut a section off of the other one and made a diagonal flap and attached it to the back of the bag with foam tape. I added a strip of gold mirror card on the front to tie in with the gold decor around the rainbow stars. The clip on the front of the flap is actually a hair clip and the strap is a length of glitter ribbon. It is part of my paper boutique collection and I really love how it turned out. Check out the image below to see a slightly different version of this type of product.

PAPER HANDBAG AND PURSE

This gorgeous handbag and purse was also made from a paper gift bag. This was a larger bag than the one in the previous picture and the bag and purse were all made from the one bag. I made the handbag in exactly the same way, except I lined the front and back with white mount board on the inside to strengthen it. The bow in the front of the handbag is a velvet hair clip, which I clipped to the bag by cutting two small slits in the front and sliding the clip through and then securing it. This adds weight to the front of the bag and avoids the need for a closure. The chain strap is made from two identical necklaces which I linked together with a jump ring. The purse is a smaller version of the bag with some twine attached so that it drops into the bag easily. The sun motif is a charm, which I got glued to the front. The three sun decor on the side was out there to cover up where the holes had been punched for the ribbon handles to the original gift bag. I really love how this came out and was the first item I made to start my paper boutique collection. It looks a really expensive bag and would be great for an evening out.
